How to Jig Your Shipping Address
Address Jigging Guide
The PokeGroup ACO V3 | Shipping Address Guide
What Is Address Jigging?
Address jigging refers to modifying the way a shipping address is written while keeping the physical destination unchanged.
This practice is commonly discussed in automated checkout communities because retailers may compare shipping addresses across multiple accounts to identify duplicate purchases or enforce purchase limits.
Address Line 2 Jigging
Address Line 2 is typically used for additional information such as apartment numbers, unit numbers, or floor identifiers.
For example, consider the following fictional address:
Original Address:
123 Sesame Street
Los Angeles, CA 90012
Example With Apartment Information:
123 Sesame Street
Apt 2
Los Angeles, CA 90012
Example With an Alphanumeric Identifier:
123 Sesame Street
Apt 4DG
Los Angeles, CA 90012
In address-jigging terminology, identifiers such as Apt 2XB or Apt 4DG are sometimes used even when the destination is a single-family home.
The intention is to create a different written representation of the address. However, retailers may recognize these variations as the same physical location, this is partly why we limit how many accounts you can run for each retailer. The more jigs you have the more likely the retailer catches on and blocks or cancels orders.
Other Address Variations
Street abbreviations are another common form of address formatting.
- Street → St
- Road → Rd
- Avenue → Ave
- Boulevard → Blvd
- Drive → Dr
For example:
- Original: 123 Sesame Street
- Variation: 123 Sesame St
These abbreviations generally refer to the same physical address and may be automatically standardized by retailers.
Billing vs. Shipping Address
Shipping Address: The location where your order is delivered.
Billing Address: The address associated with your payment method.
Your billing information should remain accurate and match the information registered with your card issuer however retailers could flag this so misspell your name slightly by one character if you want to be extra safe. Be sure to still include the line 2 jig typically as long as the name and zip appear right to the card provider they authorize the purchase.
Incorrect billing details may cause payment declines or additional verification.
